Why isn't my screen turning on but the phone does?

I have dropped my phone probably a million times, and the glass on the screen completely shattered but the phone still worked fine. But the very last time I dropped it, the phone would turn on but the screen is completely black. I cannot touch it or see anything, but I can still get notifications and the LED light on the front blinks and shows if the phone is charging.. I don't know if the screen can be fixed, and if so, how much it will cost to fix it. I have irreplaceable photos and files on there that I cannot open if I plug it into a laptop because I would have to give it permission to allow access to share files but in order to do that, I'd have to be able to touch and see my phone screen.

Hi,

If the screen is broken it has to be replaced, as they are irreparable.

Here is a link to the ifixit guides on how to repair your phone.

Samsung Galaxy Note II

Here is link showing the cost of replacement LCD screens/digitizers for your phone, from one supplier. (Ensure that you are looking at the correct model number when checking out the cost of a replacement). This is just shown to give you an idea of the cost. There are others if you search online using your model number and LCD replacement screen in the search term

If you find it too daunting to replace the screen yourself, I suggest that you contact at least three reputable, professional mobile phone repair services and ask for a quote for a repair to your phone. I recommend three, as this way you will have a better idea of the cost if all three quotes are close to each other in their estimated cost for the repair.
