Unidentified (Conductive?) adhesive - chassis replacement
Hey guys,
I'm just about to do a full chassis replacement on an iPhone 5s. I already finished fully disassembling the old one, started assembling some easy parts and am now about to place the adhesives for reassembling the data cables like button and the lightning-/audio-jack/speaker cable on the bottom. Upon doing so I stumbled across some areas which partly have golden contact surfaces which previously where conducted by some special twinkling golden glue/adhesive to also somehow special treated/roughened areas on the chassis.
I suppose this adhesive is conducting and is grounding the cables to the chassis. I think that just using ordinary adhesive tape could lead to malfunction of the cables.
I couldn't find any information on ifixit nor google covering my actual issue. Neither could I really find any adhesive/glue that exactly looks like this one (only something like this one). I'll add some pictures below.
I really could use your guys help here as I'm somehow in despair now. Anyone did this before?
Thanks in advance.
Greetings,
Eddga
