When I push the start button, the dryer just beeps. There's no error code

@bobbyv_26 ,Bob, the door may not be fully shut or thermal fuse faulty. Found good info. for dryer just beeps and no error code, link below. Both point to a bad thermal fuse. 3rd link shows testing and replacement of thermal fuse. Good luck.

This just happened to me. Found the main plug was 95% out of the wall socket. 5% contact was enough contact to allow a small current at the right voltage to power the control board and inside light. Not enough metal to metal contact to run the high current motor and heater. Plugged in and works like a charm.

@bobbyv_26 unplug the unit from the outlet and let it sit for awhile. Then try again. Keeping it unplugged should reset it. After that you want to try to run the diagnostics code as outlined in here HE3 Techsheet. Let us know what you find so we can assist you further.

I have the same problem. Only code I got was an 03 on the START touchpad when I did the diagnostic test.

Kenmore HE4 Elite Dryer - Would not turn on. The lights on the controls worked. When I tried to start it beeped three times rapidly. but did nothing. I tried to search the forums for answer everyone was saying its the thermal fuse. I tested the thermal fuse and all the fuses it wasent the answer. So it was either the door switch or control board… NOOOOO!!!!!!!!!..
Solution: The door switch was not ‘clicking’, it would push in and go out but no click. I pushed the length of the switch from side to side (without removing the switch) …wiggle it more like and pushed again… Click! pushed it a few more times to make sure.. Still clicking. Reassembled the dryer and works fine. I assume there’s a track assembly inside the switch and when its off the rails it wont click over.. When I pushed on it I inadvertently put it back on track.
Cost to fix : $ 0.00
Total Research/Diagnose/ disassembly and reassembly time : 1hr 45min. (for me)
Total repair time : Instant / Accidental

#1 Thermal Fuse ($8 )

Same. Thx. Saved me hours and a potential service call. I was going down the path of replacing the thermal fuse - saw this, fiddled with the door switch and problem solved.
Thank you soooo much! I am on vacation in Mexico in a condo with this dryer and had exactly the same problem. But thanks to you, what could have been a night marred by wet clothes hanging all over the place is now a night spent sipping margaritas and listening to the lovely whir of a working dryer.
My switch wasn't clicking either. Once I had the door off I tested my fuse and my thermostat just in case. My thermostat on next to the blower fuse had no continuity so I ordered that. After getting my door off my switch is clicking. Sigh. Maybe I should just replace that too. :)

I had the same problem but found we were pressing the buttons too hard, just a light press was required to get the dryer to start.

Pushed on the door button quite a few times and then it clicked! Once I did that the drum light went off! Took a bit of pushing and wiggling the door button but eventually it clicked! The dryer went from 3 rapid dings to working! Thank you for the advice!
Everything seemed to be working, except when I pressed the Start button the drum didn't turn. I just heard 3 beeps. After dismantling the appliance and testing components, it turned out to be the stuck door sensor....

Okay so I'm having similar problems with mine. No error code, beeps three times fast when I press start after choosing my dry cycle. The light bulb went out so I tried another bulb and it didn't work… what do I do?

Similar problem - initially throws a PF error code but goes away once I press Cancel. After that, I only get 3 quick beeps when trying to start.
Had the Machine Control Board serviced and replaced the door switch but still have the same problem.
Diagnostic code = 49 - all lights turn on/off on the control panel but the dryer doesn't beep when opening/shutting the door. The light does go on/off. Also tested the door switch and the thermal fuse and they test ok.

PROBLEM : When hitting the Start Button, the dryer just beeps. This is a DOOR SWITCH PROBLEM. Same with open door or defective switch . CAUSE: if the door switch is OK and operate correct the cause is WRONG WIRES SWITCH IN WRONG POSITION. When disconnecting the door switch wires be sure to put them back in same (correct) position. LEBEL THEM!!!. If not the dryer will beep 3 times and the 3 green lights will blink (drying/cool down/wrinkle guard) but the dryer will newer start. Are the wires in original positions ?. Put them in correct position and the dryer will start !!!!. Kenmore and Frigidaire dryer have same wires connections

So my he4 was giving me three beeps and not starting. Everything pointed to a bad door switch and found that taking your thumb and pressing it against the door switch, snapping it off the button 3 or 4 times, resets it or clears the problem. My dryer now works again.
