Missing logic board parts near battery connector, is it OK?

Original battery's life was over, got cheap ebay battery 2 months back. It's below average, it can't provide enough current and the device restarts whenever battery intensive tasks done.

(I live in India, can't buy Ifixit battery, total order value is $75! Only options are ebay or amazon ones).

So I bought another battery from amazon (MMOBIEL) few days back. It is good enough, performs well and doesn't result in reboots BUT the charging percentage doesn't change with this battery! When I restart it manually then only the new battery level is shown and that doesn't change untill next reboot.

I googled about it and found that it may be due to physical damage to the tiny logic board parts near battery connector. Look at the pic, IT DOES have a missing capacitor near the middle pin!

BUT I again put the cheap ebay battery for testing and the percent level changes as expected. Again tested the mmobiel one, no change.

My (WILD) guess is that there is no major problem due to that missing capacitor and this Mmobiel battery is defective and needs to be returned.

I need expert opinions, both about the battery and the missing parts.

Hoping to get answers from jessabethany.

Thanks in advance.

Update (10/14/2016)

Hehe, I don't give up easily! I was pretty sure that the new Mmobiel battery was the culprit. And obviously the problem HAS TO BE in the battery management circuit on top of the battery. So I planned to swap the boards of these two batteries.

I ended up soldering the old (good one) circuit onto this Mmobiel battery with some trial and error, I also kept checking the continuity with a multimeter. The +ve and -ve strips of the battery weren't easy to solder, they would easily detach after soldering, so I ended up using super glue to ensure that these strips don't move after bending in final place!

Now the device is packed and ready, the battery is working and charging perfectly!
