Extremely dim screen. Problem not LCD

I recently replaced a screen for an iphone six that appeared dead. After closer inspection I realized the screen was still "on" however you could only notice this if you looked really hard in very dark surroundings. After trying two new LCDs the problem has persisted. The touchscreen appears to still work the screen just looks dead and even in a pitch black room you can only hardly tell it's actually working. Has anyone else seen this? Could the issue be the brightness sensor?

Did you unplug the battery during unplugging and plugging in the LCD? Does the old LCD show the display properly if you try it?

If the OLD LCD did show display before the replacement was done then the back light filter on the logic board was most likely blown when the screen was unplugged / plugged in.

I did unplug the battery before removing the old LCD and didn't plug it back in until the new one was in. And this problem was present with the old LCD before I started the replacement. Is there anyway to replace the back light filter on the logic board? And would the the new LCDs that I tried using with it have been damaged by the bad backlight filter or are there most likely fine?

Thanks for the quick response

The LCD doesn't get damaged from a bad backlight filter just an FYI.

What could cause the fuse to blow besides forgetting to unplug the battery? I know that's the most common cause but in this case that isn't what happened. The old LCD was doing the same thing before replacing it I just wrongly assumed the problem would be fixed with a new screen. What other areas should I check as well as the fuse. I'd hate to replace the fuse just to have it blow again a week later
