bluray drive problem or logic board?

Hi, I first noticed that my ps3 slim CECH101a stopped reading dics one day. I decided to replace the bd drive and lo and behold, the new one is not functioning properly. It doesn't take in dics, and it is treating it as if there is already something inside. When I try to sort of slip a disc in, the mechanism doesn't work and it doesn't detect the disc....it sort of ejects for half a second then stops. In addition, in game apps crash after installing the new drive. Does this mean the logic board is bad or the drive? Did I mess up the installation? I remembered to swap the circuit baords from the drives as well.

This question is very hard to answer without more info. If game apps from the psn store crash then it is unlikely to be a drive only problem. The drive may either not be the correct model for your ps3 not been installed correctly or a ribbon cable is loose.
