Screen Ribbon Cut and need replacment
The ribbon that connects screen to computer from the backside has been cut. Was wondering if I could replace just the ribbon or would the whole lcd need to be replaced.

Sadly Apple never offered a replacement LVDS cable so we can't give you a part number. You'll need to search the web for a replacement cable or just get the full display unit which is either 661-4820 or 661-503. You'll need to match up which display you have in your system with the replacement (the parts are very different from each other)

yes you can replace the cable.
and fixit also sell the part :

there is not really a guide to do this but it can be quite strait forward. first you would need to remove the glass bezel, this can be done by heating it, you might need to pry a bit to get it loose, kinda like opening an iPad. once the glass bezel is off you can proceed to remove a few screws on the sides of the lcd panel to free the lcd it self ... careful as there are magnets everywhere ... try keeping them in their right place or the laptop won't sleep when closed. once the lcd is free from all screws gently lift and you will find the connector on the lcd panel unplug the bad and in with the new. also try to pass the cable from the exact place the other one was or the bezel might not fit properly.
