Where is the Wi-Fi board on the New Nintendo 3DS XL?
I've read many of the questions and answers on this site regarding the 3DS Black Screen of Death, and many people have reported reinserting/reseating or replacing the Wi-Fi board/chip as a solution to problem.
I've watched the tear down video several times but the woman in the video made no mention of a Wi-Fi board/card during the tear down.
The New 3DS obviously has Wi-Fi; where is the board/chip located?
As a bit of background, my girlfriend bought me this New Nintendo 3DS XL last year. The device worked well up until two days ago, Aug 11 2016. It's been really hot and humid here in New York this week. I was playing Majora's Mask 3D that morning well into the afternoon. When I got to the Gerudo Pirate fortress, the game froze. I held the power button to power it off, then tried powering it back on. That didn't work.
I then removed the SD card and battery, reinserted them and that worked. I went to the settings to change the date and time back to the proper date and time. After returning to the home menu, the screen remained black with the power light on; no backlight, no Wi-Fi light, the charging light still working when plugged.
I reinserted the SD card and battery a second time, ignored changing the time, and went to the Browser. The Browser worked, I attempted to go back to the home menu and the screen froze on the transition. Now reinserting the SD card and battery no longer helps; the screen remains black as detailed above.
