Randomly Black Screens and powers down.

My macbook randomly shuts down. It goes black screen the fans pick up then dies.

I've tried resetting the SMC. Replacing the heat sink. And giving it a clean. Not sure what else to do.

To help isolate the problem, hook up to an external monitor and see if it goes down when this happens.

Here's some information on a possible class action law suit and a link to an SMC Update that Apple released to possibly solve this issue: http://9to5mac.com/2013/03/14/15-inch-re...

Keep records of any expenses you may incur when trying to resolve this issue as your costs may later be recoverable from Apple.

Yes it stays on when it's connected to an external monitor! When i download that update it says this software is not supported on your system. What do i have to do?

Leave it on a while and if the external monitor stays on, that helps isolate the problem and eliminates the GPU as the problem, Next try reseating the display data cable as show in step #11 of this guide: MacBook Pro 15" Retina Display Mid 2014 Display Assembly Replacement

That failing and do to the cost of the display assembly, I would go for a "Flat Rate Repair", from Apple so you have records of the repair with them. That repair with tax and shipping runs about $357.00

In case there is a successful Class Action law suit on this Apple will be forced to refund your repair costs.
