How do I unlock the screen?

I added the extra security using the dots method and I don't remember the pattern. After several tries I got a message "too many pattern attempts" and prompted me to use the google.com accounts recovery method. I tried this and even changed my user name and password and no success. I even tried the paperclip method to reset and this didn't work. Finally, I closed my gmail account, but this didn't help either. My tablet still has the same message. HELP
