Black and Decker ICR515 unsure how to repair

So I figured out how to break into my Black and Decker Iron without having to buy a new screwdriver to get the tamper-proof screw off (yay!). Basically I just pulled off any casing I could and unscrewed internal screws while holding it open.

But now I'm not sure what the problem is. I don't see any obvious disconnections or broken capacitors and the light goes on, but the iron doesn't heat up. I don't know much about what kind of things can go wrong. Part of the plastic casing on the interior is melted on the bottom of the water tank.

Any ideas of what I should look for? Also it would be nice to have a schematic for when I try to put it back together but I didn't see one ;)
