How do I retreive data from a frozen phone
My phone froze while doing an upgrade reboot. It wont turn on and just loops thru the Galaxy intro screen . I have important photos I would like to get back. Thanks johnno.
I think you should be able to get it working again by flashing the firmware over the phone which should not wipe any data on your phone but basically re-install the system software on your phone without any reset.
Download the system software from this website:
You will need to specify your model number which you can find at the back of your phone at the battery compartment.
You will need to also use a program called ODIN which you can also download it from Sammobile when downloading firmwares (system updates). Follow the instructions on the website and you should be fine.
TL:DR - You need to flash a stock ROM over the existing one. Use the latest Android Version and operator (What network provider you use) which matches your phone. This basically should allow you to boot up the phone with your data fine. Hopefully it's just a software update issue that can be fixed by just reflashing the stock ROM via Odin with your phone in download mode.
I'm a bit busy right now to provide more information sorry.
No matter how careful you are, accident happens without giving you a single notice. Dropping your Samsung phone on floor might be the most common case in point. After all that happened, all you can do is just staring at the device with broken screen and blaming yourself for the carelessness. Whenever such accidence occurs, the most asked question is about the valuable data saved on the smartphone. If you’re going to recover deleted files from Samsung Galaxy S5/S4/Note 4/Note 3, Galaxy A9/A7/A5, etc. with broken screen, here is your chance.
Android Data Recovery is a Do-It-Yourself program which can help you recover files from all kinds of damaged Samsung devices including broken/dead/locked Samsung phone or Samsung with broken screen, etc. All existing and lost files on your device will be found by the program and you are able to access and retrieve them with ease. It supports multiple media files including images, songs, movies, text messages and more.
Note: If you lost/deleted files on your Samsung device, try not to use device until the lost data are recovered. Otherwise you’re not able to get back the lost photos, videos, messages, recover deleted files from Android internal memory or whatever your lost once the new files overwrites them.
There is not a single reason that causes this trouble, but plenty of them, among which the most common ones are as follows:
1.You have installed some unofficial third part apps into your Samsung phone that prevent it from having normal booting.
2.Some malicious software and viruses may have encroached upon your phone.
3.Possibly the most primary cause of this problem is that the operating system used is a corrupted one. This is why so many people have the same bother after flashing a new ROM.
Next, you should first retrieve data from frozen Samsung phone and then try to fix the brick by doing factory resetting in Recovery Mode.
