Display very dim after digitizer was replaced.
Why is my display very very dim after I replaced the digitizer on my iPad 2?
- If the LCD's brightness was normal before the repair, then in 99% of cases you just need to reboot your iPad:
Press and hold together Home Button and Power Button for 12 to 15 seconds. By then the iPad should have restarted and you should see the apple at normal brightness.
If you do see the apple but it is still very dim, then the remaining 1%:
- You damaged your back-light circuit, and you'll have to have it repaired by a micro-soldering expert;
- Examine your LCD itself. It has a cable and connector underneath the black tape. Is the flat cable dislodged or the connector damaged somehow? (It's a very small and slim cable on the top and back of the LCD. It's NOT the big LCD cable that connects the middle of the LCD to the board of the iPad);
- Your LCD went bad. Try a known good LCD to rule this out.
