Why is my drone unstable

my drone was flying and suddenly spiralled out of control into a field and then a horse started trying to eat it damaged the front end pulled the camera off but I was wondering would damage to the gps bored affect stability example flying forward then letting controls go the drone drops in height rapidly would that be the gps bored that causes that?
