Why does my battery die so quickly?

My Acer Aspire One 756 dies very quickly even though I charge it fully. What should I do to increase the battery life?

The Acer Aspire One 756 has a battery life of 3-3.5 hours upon full charge; however, if the battery life is significantly shorter than that, the battery may need to be replaced with a new one.
