MacBook Pro no longer recognized WiFI, Bluetooth, or Camera?

MacBook Pro (13-inch, Mid 2010)

  • OS X El Capitan
  • 2.66 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
  • 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
  • NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB

So after attempting to tighten my screen so it's not frustratingly loose and has so much play in it, I ended up apparently making things worse! After putting it all back together I noticed when I checked my wifi in my status bar it said "Hardware is not installed" and for Bluetooth it says "Not Available" and after trying the camera, it is not detecting that either. When I go to see more information in System Report and clicking on Camera it says "No video capture devices were found." For Bluetooth it says "No information found.". For WiFi it says:

Software Versions:

  • CoreWLAN: 11.0 (1101.20)
  • CoreWLANKit: 11.0 (1101.20)
  • Menu Extra: 11.0 (1110.33)
  • System Information: 11.0 (1100.1)
  • IO80211 Family: 11.1 (1110.26)
  • Diagnostics: 5.1 (510.88)
  • AirPort Utility: 6.3.6 (636.5)

As of now I have no choice but to stayI have tried NVRAM reset, SMC reset. Can anyone point to what could be the issue? I did have to unplug and reattach the camera cable. I used this guide to take apart in order to tighten the loose hinges. Thanks in advance!! MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010 Display Replacement

Here's a couple of pictures I took of the connection now. The first picture is when I insert it, the second picture is with the wire unplugged, the third picture is at a different angle with the wire plugged in, and the fourth is the best I could take of the port

I hope it's not any kind of internal damage and that at most, it is just a wire replacement but if worse comes to worse I'll have to buy a WiFi/Bluetooth adapter. Thanks so much again!

Did you pinch the cable going though the hinge? Clearly the signal lines to the lid on the left side (looking down) have been damaged. If you review this IFIXIT guide: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody Mid 2010 Right Clutch Hinge Replacement. It will allow you access to replace the cable.

In step 5 of the page you linked, that wire keeps coming loose for me. I just got it plugged in and turned on my macbook pro and the camera and wifi were working but bluetooth wasnt. Now it is back how it was when the problem started. Guessing that wire is coming loose too easily. Will a new wire solve that issue?

Take a good tight picture of the connector end and the socket so we can see the pins and the latch areas. Post them in your question (in edit mode).

I will do that right now and take pictures from my phone. I want to know what needs to (if anything) be replaced so wifi, bluetooth and the camera all work together again. I'm almost certain it's a loose connection because there was a little plastic rectangle which I think was there to hold the wire in? I have that but I don't know how good it looks, I will take the bottom off this now and repost the pictures in a couple minutes. By the way, thank you so much for your extended help!

I also noticed that when taking it apart there was a tiny plastic square that I had to remove by the Airport/Camera/Bluetooth cable before I took it out in order to remove the screen hinges. I don't know where the plastic square was exactly located before I removed it but maybe this is just a case of that wire not being held in place securely and keeps becoming loose? Can I use tape to secure it properly?

If you look carefully you'll see you bent the tabs of the logic board connector frame (gold colored C) look at the ends of the C you'll see a small slot this is the detent hole for the cable connector to latch. VERY carefully bend them back down a bit, hopefully you don't snap the off. Often when I see this the connector has been stressed which could mean the connect points are not touching inside the mating connector. If that is the case you could try replacing the cable to see if that fits things otherwise the logic board connector is damaged and will need to be replaced. This is where you'll need to send the board out for repair with someone with the skills & tools to do it correctly.
