What is the static noise on the phone when trying to call?

Make sure the ringer is not turned off. Then, check the phone line cord and power cord to see if they are securely plugged into the base and the wall. Also, check to see if the cordless handset is not too far away to ring. And don’t forget to keep charging the battery even when you aren’t actively using it.
