I ruined the entire casing and screen is shattered. need help!

Late 2011 Mac book pro. 17.

I bought this computer when it first came out. Refurbished from Apple. No Apple care.

I only used it maybe 20 times before the devastation hit. I was driving. My sister had the laptop open on her lap. We made a left turn and someone came out of no where going 60mph and everything broke. My car was totaled.My sister was in the hospital and my computer was destroyed.

The air bag slammed the laptop shut. My sister wasn't wearing her seatbelt and the laptop wedged between her and the dash. It saved her. She should have went through the wind shield.

My insurance company refused to cover it because it wasn't attached to the car.

The screen is shattered. The lid has an inch gap on one side when u close it. And the entire body is dented up. I don't know about the hinges.

I saved my money for a long time to buy this computer. I paid 80.00 for a stupid fiberglass sticker to put on it because I thought it would protect it. I had the super duty bag to protect it. The hard case..etc. It wasn't accident proof.

I want to fix it. I love it. Please give me advice. It's been 5 years since the accident and I have been keeping it safe until I can fix it.
