Click sound coming from upper left side/hinge when I open the lid.

Hello.

How are you experts all doing?

I've been fixing, repariing and replacing parts in my macbook pro mid 2012 15" since I dropped it on the floor 1 year ago. So I have considerable experience removing the display clamshell, topcase, motherboard etc. Now that I've finally finished fiddling with it, there's this one thing bothering me.

It's a low noise, like a click sound, when I open the lid. It only happens when opening, not when closing it. It seems something needs to settle inside so it does again. Meaning if I close and open again quickly, there will be no sound. But if I close it and leave it like that for a couple of hours, next time I open there will be the sound.

I've tried repositioning the LCD cable and the hinge clutch but to no avail.

Could the LCD cable be catching somewhere inside? For me there's only one way to put the cable there but who knows, maybe I'm doing something wrong.

Hope you guys can give me some ideas on fixing this annoying issue!

Without the mac turned on inspect it opening and closing with the back cover off, watch it as your doing it.
