Craftsman 20 hp lawn mower, the flywheel will barely turn when I crank it. The strange thing is, it will turn just fine when the spark plug is removed. How can I get it to start?
That it is hard to turn with the plug in is a good sign, that means your engine still has compression. Check the basics - make sure you are getting fuel and spark, make sure the battery is strong enough to really crank it, and the cables are tight and corrosion-free, make sure the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, etc.
