Xbox Buttons make noise, nothing else.

Hello all,

I have a Xbox 360 Slim Model 1439 MFR Date 2012-12-14

I have no information on the system other then that "one day it stopped working."

I have another Xbox 1439 MFR Date 2011-08-12 that has a slightly different motherboard layout. Despite this, I can't imagine the rf module or power brick are proprietary to that manufacturing year, so I swapped both those items that are known to work with the broken xbox, and still get the same exact results.

The power brick light is orange, and when I push either the power or eject button on the front panel all I get is their respective beeps.

The motherboard looks to be okay as far as I can see. I have never looked at one of these before but this one looks like it has a lot of empty solder pads... Perhaps they should be like that, but it doesn't make much sense to me.

Does anyone have any idea on the issue?

Empty solder pads are totally normal. Some are only useful for devkits, some are cut from final retail units because Microsoft decided that the console will work without them, most likely extra power rails or filtering capacitors.

Check the board layout with other units of the same revision.
