Replaced battery, stuck on first screen, won't power on.

I had to replace my battery cause some moron stole my phone and decided to pry it open and ripping the ribbon that connects the battery to the board. I have replaced the battery and have gone to plug it in. It doesn't necessarily power on but it turns on to the first screen before doing that.

Could someone please help me and possibly tell me what is wrong and preferably how to fix it so as I don't have to buy another phone.
