How do I fix my broken airport cable?

Hi there,

I had issues few weeks ago where the airport card didn't seem to be recognized by the computer at all (instead of having the regular wifi icon on the top of the screen, i had the one with a cross). When i opened my macbook to see what's going on, i saw that the connector between the logic board and the airport card has broken off, and is now stuck inside of the logic board. (picture) I tried to glue it back to the cable but it didnt work, I have an another airport card so it's not a problem if i need to replace it, but i cant if the connector is stuck inside ! Any thoughts ?

Sadly you'll need to clean the glue off the connector header on the logic board otherwise you'll need a new logic board.

Some how you need to get the glued cable connector thats still mated to the header off without damaging the header. This may not be possible! If you use any force you will likely rip off the header as well as the fragile solder pads below it on the logic board.

Your actions of gluing may cost you a lot in repair costs.

Two choices, very small flat head screwdriver down the side of the socket and gently pry it out (did this today, got it out, replaced the cable and fixed) or take a couple of tooth picks, snap off the tips, super glue them together side by side and then super glue them carefully to the top of the pc that is stuck in the socket.

Both of these will work, just be really gentle and careful.
