Microsoft Surface connector's LED light goes off after 10 seconds

When power cord is connected, connector's LED light glows; but gets turned off after about 10 seconds. After reconnecting the connector, LED light of connector glows for about 10 seconds; but goes off after about 10 seconds. As a result, charging is not taking place.

Condition of charger, connector is good. M/c works very well other than above problem.
