Wifi card needs to be replaced

I am using the MacBook Air in Sri Lanka , and if I am to replace the wifi card does it matter where I am living or is it based on the region ? Coz as per to what the authorize dealer company in Sri Lanka that's what they say, and I dont think that's correct information and above all " the wifi card has to have a specific number which will only support , and they need 15 days to get down the wifi card replacement.

All what I need to know is can I purchase from USA or from any other country a wifi card fro MackBook Air and can I install ? And will it work? Tks.

Hello ahmed al ameen,

Authorized tech person was lied. Apple never customized WiFi module region wise. there are Global WiFi stands all manufactures should fallow such as WiFi a,b,g,n,ac (categorized by frequency band and cording mechanism) so your device support all bands,

if you have trouble as WiFi connection getting unstable you can simply download this software update given by apple inc

Here is the tear down guide and you can do the replacement your self

fallow step 15, 20, 21

if you still experiencing trouble with WiFi its better to use WiFi external dongle and it will cost below SLR.1000 and not required to teardown
