Ryan, due to the limited clearance between valves and pistons you will not know if they are bend unless you check it by removing the cylinder head or performing a leak down test.

What you need to know is what motor is in this car before you make any kind of decision on damage. If the engine is a 1.8 turbo then no damage as it is considered a non interference engine under no circumstance will the valves hit the cylinder head. Even if the timing belt break the 2.0 is a different story as it is an interference engine and the valves will top of the cylinder head if the belt breaks.

by the way a leak down test is the easiest way to know without disassembling the engine.

You are incorrect the 1.8 t is a interference motor

So I guess having a bolt lodged in my timing belt and crankshaft sprocket during a take off after stopping, makes me up $@$* creek without even a boat.

For future individuals who stumble onto this thread. The 1.8t is absolutely an interference engine. Very expensive and you will have some valves bent 100% of the time usually 80-100% of the valves being damaged. Head will likely need to be replaced not rebuilt if a timing belt breaks in the 1.8t. The 2.0 petrol is also interference but people sometimes get lucky and have no damage when a timing belt breaks. Most of the time they are also damaged.

Sensor bad but first follow the wires back to ecm. Run your nails across the wire to check for breaks in wire. The problem is you can check with a meter and it will say you have continuity but if just one strand in the wire will say this . so if the rest are torn you will still get a code. It's tedious but this will tell you if you got a bad wire. Those geniuses stretch these wires and tend to tear after time. They stretch them so the readings are closer instead of having a wire to long for readings. I went through all of mine and I found 12 wires barely making connection. Good luck be patient ,you Will probably be cussing your brains out though.

@reyduran328 ok I will attempt to check that tonight after work I’ve been told to check the wiring on ecm and the wires to crank shaft sensor I’m determined to resolve this issue and whenever I do I will post for future reference for everyone I was going to buy new wires for the tune up I did and also buy a crank shaft censor since it was reading bad but will check the ecm wires first and fully test it thank you for your response because my mind is about shot fooling with this car Been messing with it for about 14 hours now testing everything I can to figure out the issue

Cam shaft censor was the issue. Only one side had power to it due to the magnet breaking behind the pully. Was able to figure out pretty quick with voltage reader
