Water Damage - Possibly battery
About 2 months ago my friend said he woke up to his phone in a puddle of water. He dried it off and tried to turn it on and noting happened. He recently asked me if I could take a look at he phone since his back-up phone broke. I've been looking around and most people said that the first thing to be damaged is the battery I was curious if I could just replace the battery and it fix the problem?
Also, a few years ago I dropped an iPhone 4 in water and took it to someone and he just took the battery out and put it back in and it fixed it. Is there a chance that could be the case for my friends phone?
it could be the case…water is pretty insidious, you dry it out pretty slowly when you just leave it to evaporate out of the phone. this means there are salts and mud and corrosion forming away in there. if you gamble and just change the battery you could win, or it all goes pppphut. When you open the phone to change the battery you'll get a pretty good idea of how much damage has or hasn't occurred. Good luck

How would I check if it is the battery if i take it out? He has an iPhone 6 as a back-up phone, can I take the battery out of it and connect it to the 6 plus and see if it is the battery?
