Display is dark and I can't unlock it

Hi, My display will not show on my note 2 and my phone is password protected (by pattern). I need to get my pictures and phone numbers off of it. I have a new note 4, so I don't really want to fix the display, but just get my stuff off. Can I do this by removing the motherboard and inserting it in some other device just to remove my pics and numbers? Help?
