I tore apart my htc one m8 to replace the screen, and after i put it all back together, when i hook it up to charge, the charging lite flashes and the battery symbol comes up, but it doesnt go anywhere from there. usually it should go to the screen that shows you how much charge you have but it doesnt. What could i have done wrong? Please advise

I too own a HTC one m8. You might have to double check the battery. Try by disconnecting the battery cable from the logic board and make sure there are no small tears or other visable damage to the battery, cable or its connection. If you find no evidence of damage then properly connect the battery connection to the logic board. You may also want to check the usb ports connection and if it appears to be undamaged try reseating its connection to the logic board. To me it sounds like the battery cable may be loose in its connection to the logic board or may have a damaged cable or connection. If you have a multimeter you could test if the battery cable has any voltage running to its connection, and what its voltage is. If there is no voltage reading on multimeter then you will need a new battery. Hope this helps.
