Why is my player not turning on?

My DVD player has randomly stopped working, I have tried resetting it, I have made sure all the cables are in the correct place and fully plugged in, nothing works. Every time I plug it into the wall (AC/DC outlet) the only thing that happens is the standby/power button has a blinking red light. Is it fixable and if so how do I fix this?
