I have purchased a new ps3 slim 250gb(model:cech-2001b) and brought it to India. i have conneced to the power using a 220/240v to 110/120v converter. A red light comes up after powered on, when i press power button on console, it goes to green for a second and it goes off completely not even a red light.
Plz help.

Possibly try a friends power outlet and/or converter to be sure you are supplying the 110v to it, and not a full 220v

I tried two different converters and i also tested the voltage from converter with a multimeter its showing 110v.
I have just bought a PS slim model CECH2101A in the US and plugged it to a 220V network with convertor
now becuse the convertor was low capacity (less then 300W) it couldn't handle it and the PS3 did the exact same behaviour you described.
now, there are many post on the web that the previous model CECH2001 is dual voaltage (no convertor needed) but I coudnt find any confirmation for CECH2101 model.
