Replaced battery, now brightness control won't work

Hi all,

I replaced my battery a couple of days ago on my iPhone 5. It seems to be working flawlessly except for one detail. The ambient brightness control isn't functioning at all, nor will the manual brightness controls work. It stays stuck on full brightness no matter what I change it to.

Anybody have any clue as to what I might have done wrong?
