Home button not working

Home button not working, changed lightning assy and still doesnt work. I've changed it due to problems with home button not working. Everyting else is working on it. After some reading around there are some issues with home and powerbutton due to prying, but powerbutton is working. The homebutton just doesnt work and i have tried with 2 different "screens with homebuttons" just to be sure. And i've tried to "shorten" thoose to pins that the homebutton connects to when cloosing the "lid". But homebutton just doesnt work... Anybody got a tip out there ???

Yes, prying can ruin both power button and home button, or just home button.

Use a magnifying glass to look around the battery connector, but more importantly next to the SIM slot. Do you see anything damaged, missing, broken? Note that first time I made this mistake, I used a 20x scope but still couldn't see the damage that I had made. So it could be obvious, but then again it could be quite difficult to see.

South side west side or north side of powerconnector ? Under antenna ?

Definitely underneath the antenna cable, north of the power connector. This is where the most damage usually happens that directly affects home button and power button functions.

But I once pried off a small component off the board, "East" of the battery connector, right next to the metal shield on an iPhone 5S that caused the home button to act as if "always pressed." Solved once I soldered it back in place. Since the 2 iPhones are similar, I assume there "could" be components around the power connector and lightning dock connector that if damaged or missing, may affect the home button function. So take a look there too.

Um Rany, are you from Australia?

Look under the antenna, directly behind the SIM tray. South of the power button, North of the battery connector. You'll see four black component chips. probe them lightly with a needle. Any movement is bad.

Honestly, this IS going to be pry damage to U3, there really isn't another choice. I have lots of pics of pry damage on my website if you want to see some examples. Get there via my profile.

My advice it that you use this picture to indicate which components are damaged/missing and post it in a new specific question.

From what i can see it's only C100_RF that has been damaged, it's the only one that i could move around and took of when i picked on it..

Rest looks goood. Would a bridge solve it ?

Ask that to Jessabethany here above. She's the "resident expert" I would trust to answer this.

Oldturkey03 also, and he can help you source the part if you can't find it.

But if you ask me, I would always seek to replace a missing or damaged component.

You can post a separate question about it, I think you'll get a quicker answer.
