Hello,
I've got a customer who tried to replace his inverter on an A1181 and after it does not turn on.
I've opened the chassis and everything looks correct, a few missing screws on the case itself, but internally it looks fine.
I've tested that power is getting from the dc jack to the battery port.
Push button, nothing happens.
Any thoughts as to what direction I should be looking?

Reset the SMC
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect the MagSafe power adapter from the computer, if it's connected.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
5. Release the power button.
6. Reconnect the battery and MagSafe power adapter.
7. Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Leave it plugged in for about 30 minutes in case the battery is fully drained.

Still nothing. The magsafe adapter light comes on and is green until I put the battery back in then it goes yellow/orange so I know its got power.
Assume they did something to the mainboard or could this really be inverter related?

After reseating everything it still did not power on. I remembered that I had the keyboard/top to this same model sitting in a spare parts bin.
Using the replacement keyboard/top it powers on but has nothing on the screen. I have to assume that the customer did not successfully replace the inverter or possibly it was a bad lcd that needed replacement and not the inverter.

Additionally I swapped out just the keyboard/top ribbon cable to the customers keyboard/top and this allowed the system to power on.
