Can I use RAM pc3 8500?

hi, i have this ram that i take it from a macbook unibody aluminium

RAM Upgrade / 1 GB / PC3-8500 / Low Profile / 204 pin, 1066 MHz

this ram is compatible with my macbook white?

White MacBook "Core Duo" 1.83 13" Specs:

  • PC2-5300 DDR2 Min. RAM Speed: 667 MHz

MacBook "Core 2 Duo" 2.26 13" (Uni/Late 09) Specs:

  • PC3-8500 DDR3 Min. RAM Speed: 1066 MHz

As you can see they are vastly different. PC2 and PC3 modules are not compatible (you can't switch one for the other either way). Sorry ;-{

The RAM standards folks have a trick to prevent you from using the wrong RAM: The slots in PC2 RAM sockets and in OC3 RAM sockets are in different places, so the only way to get PC3 RAM into a PC2 socket is through brute force. If you have to force something into a socket, that's a sign that you shouldn't be doing it at all.

No MacBook model A1181 ever used DDR3 RAM (they all used DDR2 667MHz or 800 MHz). You can check the specific type of RAM for your MacBook in:
