How do I check to see if my motherboard is bad?

Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976

Released December 8, 2009, the Toshiba Satellite L455D-S5976 has a silver upper case and a silver/black lower case. It has a 15.6 inch screen with TOSHIBA written in all capital letters on the back of it.

How do I check to see if my motherboard is bad?

Screen went black on laptop, worked on external monitor for 3 days, then it went black too after I opened the back of laptop to inspect the CPU card. Hard drive has been checked & works good on another laptop, but won't work on my laptop (HDD light does not come on & won't spin). SD card light does not come on when SD card inserted. DVD spins when inserted. I replaced CPU card & no change. I think I might have damaged the motherboard somehow, but don't know how to check it. HELP?

Yes, I took it out & tested it in the other slot...it still did not fix the problem. How do I know if I need a new ram or if it's the inverter?

Then try test it with other stick of ram... if its the inverter you should get image on an external monitor! if none of this works, you most likely have a graphics chip who needs a reballing!
