The older macbook air (< 2012) uses 11n/bt2.0 but we can not use 'Handoff', 'Continuity' function of yosemite.
To support those we need BLE4.0, can we replace bt2.0 of my 2010-late air (BCM943224PCIEBT2) to ble4.0 of 2013/2014 (BCM94360CS2)
I think that we have to consider the location of the antenna port and the size of card board.

It's too soon to speculate on what Apple will do in Yosemite. So far it appears Apple is leveraging the hardware ID as external USB adapters are not working. So swapping out the internal will likely not be any different. Sorry
