Unable to install network printer driver on Vista.

New MSI laptop w/ Win Vista.

New Old Networked Laser Printer, Konica Magicolor 2300DL.

New Konica Magicolor 2300DL Driver Installer from http://printer.konicaminolta.com/support...

The installer asks if I want to install local or network printer, I choose network, continue.

The installer tells me to select the printer I want to install driver for, which is not possible, since the printer can not be seen on the network, because the driver has not been installed.

Cute, ain't it?

Help is useless, gives verbose definitions of the buttons in the dialog.

Please help.

Got 10 Macs. They do not seem to make printing on Vista easier...

The answer is that Konica-Minolta believes that a local printer can reside on your LAN. So they give you a chance to input an IP address for a local printer!

Choose local printer (NOT network printer) for any printer on your LAN. Even though 99% of the population would call that a network printer.
