Battery up to 30% and then turn off, why?

I'm using my iphone 4S normally and when power reach down 30% the device turn off as if the battery is completely off. I would like to know if this issue could solved just replacing the battery.

It should be, but if it isn't, then you need to replace the logic board.

Replace the battery or do a hard reset hold power button and the home button together for 6 seconds the let go and press power see if that starts it.. If not trouble shoot by replacing battery
