Blu Ray ribbon on 160gb ps3

I had the same problem. When you pull out the ribbon gently it will give you more slack.

This is possible because the blu-ray carrier slides a bit on its guides. Don't pull to hard.

This will give you more room to attach it to the conector on the mainboard.

If you can't give it more slack then open the cover of the blu-ray player and place de blu-ray carrier in the middle of the two guides. Good luck.

Lift up the front a little or the back, use a flat head to push up the both sides of the clamp on motherboard on the back side of the laser Lens ribbon at the socket, repeat backwards to replace.. Hope this helps
