Power Button (sensor) semi-works CECHL01

I have a 80gb ps3 model CECHL01 which has a power button sensor that chooses when to work and when not to. I have tried lifting up the sensor for the power button a tad bit in hopes it would fix the problem but it seems to have not helped. This particular models seems to have the control board either attached to the motherboard or underneath the metal framing as only the two prongs (sensors) are in the place where the control board should be. Can someone shed some light on this particular control board for this model and list off a few suggestions that might help me get the power button in fully working condition?
