Upgrade Motherboard A1151 to A1261 or lower
Hello I saw your tutorial, by the way very fine!
I have a MacBook Pro 17" model A1151. I would like to upgrade the logic board for A1229 or 1261 version. Will it be possible? thank you!

This is not an easy swap out if that is what you were hoping for. The cost Vs benefit is also something you'll need to think about before attempting.
I think you could find a nice used system for less than trying to upgrading this system with the better 17" (CPU and GPU).

As you have the board and clearly have already taken your old one out to compare, go ahead and swap them out. I think your going to find the few Hz difference between them won't be that noticeable from a real performance perspective.
