Trouble finding backlight fuse? Please Help!
Been looking for two days now on forums and tinternet but have only found detailed descriptions for MBP.
BACKGROUND Am trying to fix my mums Macbook for her as she is on a budget and has already wasted money replacing a screen that didnt need replacing.
The screen went dark one day last year.My brother(having experience building desktop PCs) changed the screen for her, which worked perfectly until he closed the lid and damaged one of the inverter cables resulting in a popping sound and the screen going dark. Holding a torch up u could still see the screen working and all appeared fine on an external monitor. He bought another screen and tried to rectify his mistakes but to no avail. The inverter was named as the problem by a local laptop repair specialist who ordered and fitted a new inverter but still the backlight does not work. So it has found itself to me. I have a bit of experience in fixing laptops and iphones and have been researching my options. Have tested all of the inverter cables, all appear to be fine. it has a new inverter. I also tested another new screen that was available to no avail. My thoughts are that the backlight fuse has blown during the inverter cable damage(which was replaced). I was hoping to either replace the fuse or just cross solder the points if that is possible. Trouble is I cant find any description of the location of the fuse. Anyone got any advice?
Think my serial number isw8828keq0p1
many thanks in advance
