Lower display area blinking

Worked for years, everything fine except the display lower third now blinks/flashes on and off. Not good for a migraine sufferer! Are the backlit LED's in replaceable banks, how and what do I need to repair this please?

Could you post an image of this on here. Sounds like a bad display.

Hi Guys, Thanks for the tips, left it unplugged for a week and then it appears to have restarted back to normal. First tried it on a PowerMac G5 1.6Ghz with inbuilt ADC card, and when it ran for a week or so error free, then transferred back on my desk linked via MBPro 17" with the ADC to DVI Adapter. The power button was not flashing on restart, so that was a good sign. I'll test it for a while and hopefully the trouble stays away.

Thanks for all your help

Darren Lloyd start with this " Partially dim screen

This symptom indicates a problem with the inverter or backlight bulbs (on the side of the display that is dim), or related cables or connectors. "This may be caused by the backlight bulbs or the inverter not working properly."

1. Plug the display into a known-good computer with a known-good video card and ADC display port. Boot the computer.

2. Notice whether the power button on the display is flashing, two short flashes then a long flash, in a delayed repeating pattern. This indicates trouble with either the inverter, backlight bulbs or related cables or connectors (this indicator may not always be exhibited). With this in mind, continue with the troubleshooting steps to determine the problem.

3. Warning: The inverter board generates high voltage when the display is plugged in. Do not touch the inverter board components, pins or connectors, when the display is connected to the computer.

Disconnect the display from the computer, then open the display and check for secure connections at CN1, CN2, CN3, CN4 and CN5."

Sorry, there are no parts inside the panel that can be replaced. Hope this helps, good luck.

Sorry to hear such troubles with Cinema Display. Reset the display. Shut down and Plug out totally from the outlet for about 15min. Plug back in and calibrate it. After calibration, shut it down and plug it out from the outlet for about 1 min and plug back in. Then check if the firmware is up-to-date. If not, please download and install it. It should fix the issue. If still the same issue persists, the display needs internal mechanical calibration which will be kinda tedious. I hope, you may not need to take apart.

If this helped, please rate it. Thanks.
