I have an iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 (Base Model) with a 2.5 GHZ i5 inside.
Now I'm planing to do an SSD-Upgrade, and I thought that I can maybe upgrade my CPU at the same time.
But I have a question: Is it possible to upgrade the 2.5 GHz i5 (2400S) to a i7 3770S (which has the same TDP of 65W as the current Intel i5)?

Oh okay. Are you sure? Because this Guide (iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2428 CPU Replacement) says, you can replace the CPU (so it can't be soldered on the Mainboard).
I'm wondering if the i7 would work inside my iMac or not.

Yes. I did the same upgrade. The CPU is socketed. Took me a good afternoon though.
