Why does my iMac keeps restarting?

Hello I have a model A 1207 iMac, when I push the start button it

chimes and I get the start up srceen, but it never starts up, it just keeps on restarting.

Try inserting the MAC OSX CD and press the C key wen you start it up. I may have something to do with your hard drive or OS
