Why is my 256GB SSD not recognized in my MacBook Air?

Hi, I have a 256GB SSD that was previously working fine in a 2010 MacBook Air. I recently installed it in a 2011 MacBook Air, but it wasn't recognized in the disk utility. I installed it back in the 2010 MacBook Air, and now it isn't recognized there either. It does not show up in the list of drives. Why?? Thanks so much.

Recheck your connector(s) connection. It may appear to be seated, but in fact not be.

I agree with machead. If there is anything to learn from these type of connectors it is that even if the appear to be in, they may not be completely seated. You have to make sure to firmly push the SSD into the slot. It is similar with ram. I have fixed many computers by just applying a little extra force to the ram. You also have to push it in at and angle and then press it to the logic board. Tell us what you find out.
