Bose Wave Radio clock losing time suddenly, why?
Bose wave radio mains , nearly 20 years old, suddenly started to lose time, about 10 minutes over 8 hour period. Have replaced the 9v battery but not sure what that battery does. Any ideas ?

The time base is delivered by the AC power source. The frequency of the AC power grid is generally stable. over a long period.You could try and change the outlet and see if it makes a difference. Anything else would require to measure the coils and crystals on your circuit board. An aging power supply as well as a weak coil could most certainly cause this.

The 9 Volt battery is for the backup when the power goes out.
