Maximum size solid state drive can I upgrade to?

My hard drive is nearly full and running extremely slow. After researching, I know I need to upgrade to 6 gb RAM as well as a bigger hard drive.

I want to upgrade to a solid state drive, and am having trouble finding details on the maximum size (both physical size, if they are different) and GB size solid state that I can put in it. I'm an amateur photographer, so the more storage I can get, the better. Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

If you're storing photos, an SSD large enough to fit everything you need is going to cost you over $800. Get a 1 or 2 TB external drive to back all your pictures up to. I would highly recommend this setup to you:

120/128 GB SSD for OS and applications

500 or 750 GB 7200 RPM HDD for files installed in the optical bay

1 or 2 TB external drive

You should keep all of your photos on the external drive. Keep the good ones on your laptop so that if you suddenly find yourself in a position to show someone your work you'll be prepared.
