Why is my lever for pushing out or ejecting photos delayed or broken

so my instax mini 11 was purchased 2 years ago as a Christmas gift , one day my brother asked me to take a photo and i accidentally put the film in backwards , after a while i fixed it but the photos weren't printing , it made the noise like it was about to then cut off , now i can see that the lever that is meant to eject the photos doesn't work , it delays for about 5 seconds and then the noise that the camera makes stops , so how do you fix the lever delay
